Our Christmas Tree
Even though we ventured to Ohio this Thanksgiving and Daddy was off to Africa, we still made time to get our Christmas Tree! We went to the same tree farm we have been to for the past 5 years. This year we decided to let the boys pick what tree they wanted for the play room upstairs. The only rule was it had to be shorter than Daddy! They loved it! They went running from tree to tree, sometimes so fast we could not keep up or see them!! It was fun to see them work as a team as they picked "the perfect one." They even used team work to pull the tree back in the wagon. (Avary slept through the whole thing in her sling)

This is a riot!
This is from my friend Megan's blog! I thought it was so cute, I had to share with all my friends. Enjoy!!
Emily calls all meat "chicken". It doesn't matter if we're eating salmon or steak, her request is always "More chicken please". Last night as we ate pork tenderloin Dave decided it was time she learned the real names for meat. So we had a discussion about how this is pork, this comes from pigs, not chickens. Tonight we had an interesting dinner conversation....
Me: What do you want for dinner?
Emily: I want pig please.
Me: Oh, you mean pork.
Emily, in between bites: Yeah, pig. I love pig. Pig is so good. More pig please. Mommy, do pigs sleep in bags?
Me: No, in barns I guess.
Emily: Oh, cuz I saw the pig sleeping in a bag in our fridge before you cooked it. It was dead. So pigs must sleep in bags.

silly prayer request
Ok I know it is minor and may not to some seem like a legit prayer request, BUT for us, it is pretty important.......can you pray that we find our camera! We can not find it and it is really sad. We pretty much take about 15 pictures a day. I have been trying to get a few here and there on my cell phone. Reason for the last 4 pictures looking like they do!! Thanks friends

did that really just happen?
I mean really, "Did that really just happen?", goes through my head at least 10 times a days and this week, it may have been 25!! Picture this, Angie and I are talking while I am fixing lunch for the 5 big kids and the 2 babies are patiently waiting to get their lunch when we look over to see Dylan with two fists in the jar of marsh mellow cream! He was covered as he tried to shove both hands into his mouth as fast as he could before I took it from him!!
"I love marsh mellow" is what he said. (we think:-)

"I love marsh mellow" is what he said. (we think:-) So the best time to buy cute costumes is of course after Halloween when they are only 5 bucks each! So I got the boys the cutest skunk outfits from Old Navy! They wanted to wear them to play group, so I said sure why not. When we got there we went outside to play. They have two dogs that just love little kids......and little kids in skunk outfits are even better! Bryce got "tickley" kisses from Aspen. Ty kept saying the dogs were going to eat Bryce because they thought he was a skunk!!!

Do you know those days when you wake up and you are still a bit out of it, but know you have to get up and just get on with it? Well I had one of those days yesterday......i got up a bit groggy and came out to the living room to complete chaos when I ran right into the HUGE WHITE PILLAR in my living room. YES it has been there for TWO whole YEARS and YES I just ran right into it.....with my toes!! And my poor ring piggy got broken! It is purple and hurts so stinkin bad! I nearly cussed when Dylan stepped on it four hours later!! Instead I fell to the ground moaning....poor Dylan thought I was laughing at first, then was like "Mommy, you otay?" (yes I know I am in need of a pedi!)

Lots of fun and lots of pictures!
Well we had a GREAT weekend!!! My best friend from high school, Devon and her kids (3 of them), came to visit for the weekend. Devon is photographer, so we havelots of great pictures to share! We went to Tyler and Bryce's last soccer game for Team Kenya. Daddy went to watch the bucks game while Emy, Dylan, and Avary napped, and the 4 big boys played out back. They climbed trees, played in the leaves, ate Popsicles and just got down right dirty! Devon and I had a great time catching up at dinner with "girls only", while Daddy took all 5, yes FIVE, boys to church and a magic show! It was so much fun. Devon's boys are still asking to move here, while mine are counting down the days when we get to go to TN to visit them! To check out the pics, just click on the top picture and it will take you to a place to view them all album by album. Enjoy!

What would you do?
If you had your sweet little girl in the tub and your super cute two year old wanted to bath with her......of course you would let him in, even though there is only 1/2 inch of luke warm water. So he jumps in and is kind of sitting above her, straddling her head, (Got the picture??) when he decides to pee. Yes, right on her head! So the question is......would you a) empty the tub and rewash her hair, b) just rewash her hair, or c) think that the pee is sterile and she should be happy she is getting a bath this week! Well, not going to tell you which one I opted for, just wanted to hear what y'all would do!

FYI
To click off the music so you can see/hear the video just click twice on the mega phones on both picture videos. Sorry for the inconvience, but I can't figure out another way to do it. I know the video is a bit mean to post, but I just love the fact that he is still throwing out food the whole time. And also, Mom is not driving, daddy is :-)
things kids say
I thought I would share with you some of my favorite things the boys have said the past week or two. Enjoy!!
1. We are in target about 9:30 am for a few snacks before we head to the Imaginon center when Ty and Bryce start talking (loudly I might add)Bryce: "I want some purple Gatorade because Daddy said that whatever color your drink is the color poop you will have." (imagine strange looks and a few smiles)
2. Not even three minutes later......."Well Jesus is everywhere..." "No He is not." "Yes He is because He lives in our heart so He goes where ever we go." "But what about hell?" OK, so now I am involved in a hushed tone, "boys, Jesus is in our hearts so He goes with us everywhere, but if He is in your heart you can't go to hell, so Jesus can't either." "See He is not there." "But if I go there then He is" "Mom I don't want to go to hell." OK, so now think about the looks we are getting. Ahhhhhhhh
3. Ty:" Mom, your belly is getting big again. Do you have another baby in there?" Trying to take this is stride with out crying or throwing up my dinner, "No buddy, no more babies." "But you might mommy, God might put another one in there."
4. Ty: "Hey mom, there is one more room back here (in the van) for another baby. Can we have one more sister?"
5. Dylan: "Hey I have an idea...."( his fave thing to say all day)
6. Ty during home school...he was drawing a picture of something strong. I was thinking of a man with big muscles, but let him do his thing. I asked finally what he was drawing and he says; "a bottom." OK, why? "Because a bottom is so strong it has to work hard to get the poop out!"
They keep me laughing, rolling my eyes, and a huge smile on my face all day long....hope you are smiling!

News Flash!!!

OK really big news!!!! NO I am NOT pregnant, amazing is it not??!! But really last Saturday we found out that there is a DONATOS PIZZA right here in Charlotte! Ah, Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Really I am not being dramatic, WE LOVE THIS PIZZA! We went there straight from the game last Saturday and probably have eaten there 4 more times since. (well some of us have anyway, not going to mention names) But it gets even better.......they are opening one less than 1 mile from our house. I know, can you even believe it! We of course took pictures! We were so excited, we played musical chairs outside while we waited. (sure it was still 85 out)

Team Kenya and The Lazy Five Ranch

Well Team Kenya is lets say KICKING BUTT! Or bottom as we say in our house! The boys are loving playing on a real team. They look forward to every practice and game. They are both doing so well and have scored multiple goals for their team. Dylan is dying to get out there too, and pretty much does every game. I am sure I am a sight for all to see holding Ava in my sling and chasing Dylan back off the field screaming his head off. We only have 2 games left, the boys will be sad, but we are excited that we finally have grass again in the back yard so they can once again resume playing one v one.

Daddy took the whole day last Friday and we all went to the Lazy Five Ranch. We took our sweet friend Kylie with us. We had LOTS of fun and many laughs as crazy animals came running to the car to get fed. Some of us were not big fans of it (Mommy and Bryce) while others just loved it (Ty, Daddy) and still others were just along for the ride (Dylan and Kylie). I mean really think about it...An ostrich, lamas, zebras, pigs...just come to your car, stick their heads in and demand to be fed. A drive through zoo if you will. A little nerve wracking, but fun nonetheless.

Dylan is 2!!

We can't believe it!! He is so big, it has gone by so fast. He had a blast at his party. If you can't tell, we had a YELLOW party! When asked what kind of party he wanted, without hesitation, he said he wanted a yellow party!! The boys thought it was so funny, so it stuck!! We had a great time decorating yellow t-shirts, playing games in the yard, eating airplane cake, and opening gifts. Mommy and Ava had a change of outfits from the baby shower we threw that morning!!
