Has anyone seen the tooth paste?

Ah, are you kidding me? Dustin came downstairs for less than a minute.............Leaving Ty and Bryce unattended and very quite. When he gets to the doorway of their bedroom, he hears giggling and we all know that is not a good sign! Ty and Bryce each have a tube of toothpaste and are making circles and lines all over the carpet!! Well, we can't seem to get it all out and now their room smells a mix of peppermint and watermelon........Today, Bryce and Dylan were down for their naps and Ty and are we doing some school stuff (the letter A), then off to his QT(Gopher Buddies). We talked about how no one can be truly happy without God in our life and that the only way to have joy is to love and obey God. After talking about it for awhile, I asked Ty if he wanted to pray and tell God how much he loves Him. So he lays his head down and closed his eyes. "Dear Jesus, thank you for loving me, why do you love me so much? I love you too. Sometimes I disobey my parents in the Lord because they have too many rules." (ok, so he said this yesterday in the car. I of course laughed and asked if he was 14 or 4. So he thinks it is funny...) Oh sweet Ty, got to love him. Today I took the boys to target to get a fishing game. Standing in the toy isle, Dylan sees a stuffed dog and starts to bark. (of course) So Ty says, "let's get Diddy (Dylan) that doggie." I am thinking about it when Ty and Bryce spot little kitties. So of course they want those too. Today we walked out of target with all the boys favorite animals!! How can they get us to buy those silly things?! Tomorrow, Dylan and I leave for the beach with my friend Amanda. I am excited for a peaceful weekend and a time to catch up with Amanda before she moves to Ohio. Pray for safety and a time of refreshment spiritually for me. Pray too, for Dustin as he will have the big boys all weekend. Pray for patience and lots of energy.....

off to the jungle

The weather today was amazing!! We went to the park with our friends Rodgers and Kylie. We packed a picnic to eat after our grand adventure! We took a hike into the woods, or well, the jungle as the boys like to call it, in search of some snakes. Which mommy says if you see a snake, scream "snake" and run!! Just a slight phobia of the gross critters that seem to be every where! They of course are a lot more brave and just say they will 'hit the snake dead' with a stick. Thank God we did not see one! For some reason no one was into their naps today, so we did quite times and did crafts for our friends. When Daddy got home, we took a walk around the neighborhood. Ty was not real interested so we said we would turn once we saw a dog. (at the mention of dog, Dylan started to bark for us). Dustin and I were talking when Ty spotted a dog sleeping on someones porch! It was funny, we think he spent the whole 20 minutes just looking for a dog, never mind the converstaion that was going on around him! No nap days can be long, but we don't really mind the 6:30 bed time that no nap days bring!! What a nice, peaceful night.......

I need some tide.....And more silly stories

Ok, so Sunday morning, I am getting the boys ready for church. D had to be there early since he was leading worship. We were getting our shoes on when Ty says, " Mommy, I need some money to take to church." Why do you need money buddy, I ask. "Because I need some money for Jesus and so my teachers can work, I think it is called 'tide'." I could barely keep from laughing as I tried to teach him how to say 'tithe'. He and Bryce were so excited to take their "tide" to church that they barely noticed they went into different class rooms. Which usually would have sent our OCD (Ty) child into complete hysterics!! They keep saying how happy Jesus was going to be to have their ''tide''..............Sunday night we had a Young Life leadership meeting. The boys love to go because they get to play with their friends Walker, Bennett, and Hayden. They of course had a ton of fun, but we were stressed to get home before complete melt downs from all three came since it was past bed time already. D gave a talk about where our identity lies and where our 'home' was. So as we are driving home, Daddy tells Ty to ask Mommy where her identity is. Except it went more like this..."Hey Mommy, where is your 'denitity'"? Oh you mean identity? "Yes!" In Jesus buddy, what about yours? "I don't have a 'denitity', Mommy!" Oh so sweet, I love the complete innocence of a child, it keeps us laughing!.......................So we are about 2 blocks away when Daddy starts to play the raise your hand if you.....game. Sweet Bryce is pretty easily scared of things he sees on TV. So at YL they watched a veggie tales movie, and to him it was really scary. So he says, "raise your hand if you don't like the tree that goes phhhhh." (ok, that is a stick out your tongue and blow silly sound). My stomach really started to hurt from the laughter. And what about sweet Dylan, some of you may be asking....Well he loved making lots of noise with an empty water bottle filled with coins. Hel just squeals with delight and shakes it and kicks his feet! When that wasn't enough, we all break out into doggie barks which can cure any cry fest!! Oh how he loves doggies!............. On a more serious note.......Dustin gave a great talk about where we place our identity. It is always a good reminder and was for me Sunday night, that I am child of God. I know who I am and I know whose I am. I belong to Him. He is enough to sustain me....My prayer this week is that I will be constantly reminded of how awesome the God I serve is and that I belong to Him............

Labor Day Weekend

Well the holiday came and went! Can't believe how fast time flys. We had a great weekend of solid family hang out time. We went to dairy queen, where Dylan screamed the whole time for a bite of ice cream. It was so hard for Ty that he finally gave into the squeals and gave him a bite of his ice cream cone! I think Dylan says "Ty Ty"now!! Friday night we went to Matthews Alive to ride all the fun "toys". The boys had a blast, they have zero fear! Saturday, Daddy and the boys worked hard in the yard to move all the mulch from our freshly cut trees. Ty said it was so stinky, but he had to be a big helper for Daddy. Sunday we were off back to Matthews Alive to ride more "toys" and listen to some of our friends play in the band. It was such a great weekend to be together. It was hard to think about my family being at home on the holiday without my mom. It sounds like the made it through, doing the things they would normally do. Wow, still feels like yesterday that she was here in Charlotte loving on us. The boys and I were looking at some old pictures the other day and Mamaw was in a few of them. They were so confused to see her and asked if she had come back from Heaven. Too sweet. As hard as it is to talk about sometimes, it always puts a smile on my face when I get to talk to my boys about Jesus and Heaven. Well on a lighter note....Ty and Bryce are wonderful artists, just come look at the walls in our playroom and the back of Aunt Ashley's door!! I thought that they were past that, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! They love to paint too, but some how they always end up with pink, yellow, and blue toe nails and finger nails!! "Like Mommy", they say! This is why we make you paint outside boys..................we hope your labor day weekend was as fun and family filled as ours!!
